“Something out here is trying to kill us. It wants us to swerve off the road and crash – it’s TRYING to get me to swerve off the road and crash.”

Dan has two fantastic tales this week but Lynze’s stories seem to be the one’s that really give the chills this week. Dan tells the story of a tired, over worked cab driver in Vera Cruz. At the end of his shift, all he wants to do is go home and go to bed. A beautiful woman begs for a ride home and he is so captivated that he drives her home. When he returns the next day to take her on a date, he is shocked to learn that she has been dead for many, many years. Continuing with the theme of seeing weird things while driving, Dan takes us to Scotland to visit one of the most haunted roads. Two brothers encounter so many bizarre things, so many spirits that it would seem impossible to not be real. Lynze, unintentionally, starts off her half of the show with another tale of seeing bizarre and scary things while driving at night, her first tale is a 2 for 1 special about the Smiling Man. While driving through their small town, the see the Smiling Man not once, but twice. Wrapping up the show is an insane story about a shape shifting doppelgänger. It’s a long story that bobs and weaves. Pay close attention and enjoy your nightmares, creeps and peepers.

Bad Magic Third Annual Giving Tree Info:

This year marks the 3rd annual Bad Magic Giving Tree! Over the last 3 years, we have taken what would be the monthly donation for a charity and kept it in our Bad Magic family. The first year, we only had the donation money. Then last year, the fans wanted to help. Dan and I offered to match the total amount donated, which was maybe a bit insane, as the fans donated over $18,000. Lynze and I also donated more than $18,000, plus the $11,000 from Timesuck’s Patreon and we had over $47,000 to spend! This year, we are excited to announce the Bad Magic Giving Tree once again!  We will be using the December Patreon donation to kick start the fund for this year’s Bad Magic Giving Tree. We estimate we’ll be donating roughly $16,000 from Patreon. If any of our fans would like to donate to the cause, this year, we are only accepting Amazon gift cards. Dan and I will be matching up to $15k. If fully matched, that’s $46k. Every little bit counts to help fellow Bad Magicians – listeners of Scared To Death, Timesuck, and/or Is We Dumb. If you have $10 or $20 to give, it helps. The average donation last year was approximately $50 – and all the money went to helping Bad Magic families have a better holiday. If you would like to donate, you can simply go to amazon.com and purchase a gift card. When you fill in the box for “TO” simply enter the email address  givingtree@badmagicproductions.com. We are accepting nominations from now until TODAY, NOVEMBER 16TH.

Bad Magic Productions Monthly Patreon Donation: Bad Magic Productions is donating $15,800 to IAVA – Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. From their mission statement: We are here to serve and empower our post-9/11 veterans community. We believe these dynamic men and women represent America’s future – our next greatest generation.

Opening Sumerian protection spell (adapted):
“Whether thou art a ghost that hath come from the earth, or a phantom of night that hath no home… or one that lieth dead in the desert… or a ghost unburied… or a demon or a ghoul… Whatever thou be until thou art removed… thou shalt find here no water to drink… Thou shalt not stretch forth thy hand to our own… Into our house enter thou not. Through our fence, breakthrough thou not… we are protected though we may be frightened. Our life you may not steal, though we may feel SCARED TO DEATH.”

  1. My dad picked up a ghostly person before, either was a ghost or someone passing through. It was outside the small town of Bernie Missouri where everyone knows each other, we have 14 Churches with population of 1200. Peaceful place and quiet. My dad said the person was gone out the car before he got to the place he was to take him, my dad said he either vanished or jumped out the car without a sound. I don’t know, I don’t believe in human ghost, I believe they are familiar spirits as the Bible calls them. They hang around a family for centuries or an area. They same unholy spirits the mediums and fortune tellers consult. There is an instance in the Holy Word this happened, it said Saul perceived it to be Samuel the prophet. They are imposters imitating people either alive or dead. Creepy stuff, Paul the Apostle cast one out of a fortune teller in the book of Acts. If your born again under the second Adam, God keeps these familiar spirits away from you, and gives you authority over them in Jesus Christ name, the second Adam.

  2. I appreciate that Dan pointed out the truth about Lynze being a communist. Dan clarified that only commie's don't like casserole. As we all know, she is a bleeding heart liberal and Modern American liberalism is just communism wearing a bow tie. Finally, Lynze just stated that she didn't like his casserole. Therefore, Lynze being a socialist liberal and not liking casserole equals her being a commie. On the other hand, I knew that before the casserole discovery.

  3. 'idk' communist' lmao , thats why its he man cassorole if you cook meat and drain it first it is now shera cassorole dag gument lmao ah man good stuff , luuva L but Dans meat pie sounds just right

  4. The road in Scotland sounds like it might be a place where there’s a time slip. Where the barrier between our timeline and an alternate timeline is thin and there is bleed through.

They felt the bumps of hitting things but nothing on this side. 🤔💭

  5. I've mentioned it before, but what if the Smiling Man is extraterrestrial-based and is just a proxy, a drone of sorts to interact with humans harmlessly? The alien controllers of this human-like drone mean well and want to peacefully engage us, however, because they don't understand human anatomy very well, nor our societal norms, i.e. a guy standing in the street waving with an inhumanly large smile, the attempt falls flat.

  6. From Illinois we would do tatertot surprise which would be cooked ground beef with onions, mixed with cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup, can of carrots and peas mixed in with the soups and ground beef then topped with the tots and baked for 45-55mins

  7. I love these so much it’s interesting to actually see y’all I come over from the podcast I’ve listened to almost all of the 2020 episodes and I really enjoy them a lot
I do have some story’s of shadow figures following me and some other creepy interactions with what I believe to be somewhat hostile entity’s love what y’all do it’s very entertaining please continue to give me the creeps

  8. There was a grinning man-type entity inside the house in a listener story! But also maybe slightly in the doppelganger realm too? It was in the 3 AM episode because it's forever seared into my memory 😅 reminded me wayyy too much of my own creepy basement

  9. I think that the road in Scotland seems like a break in reality. Each person and vehicle trapped in it are on a different plane and while they can see each other and even interact to a point at times, they aren't truly able to impact each other. So the van and the car interact and the realities crash into each other but continue on their own planes of existence. Continuing that line of thought, perhaps the people that were run over were those who DID get out of their cars. They may be trapped there because of it or at the very least, moving much slower through this rift than those who remained in their vehicles and are able to drive through it. Food for thought.

  10. Loved the episode! Guys, An idea for joe's story!: Investigate the heck out of it and then make it into a special episode maybe! 😀 (and maybe new happenings, hopefully intriging ones no scary ones, will come along). Then you could take as much time with it as you want (that is if joe wants to ofcourse :D)

  11. Halfway through the first story I already knew where it was goin. I was told this story when I was a kid. Theres also a mexican singer that made a song about it. His names Ramon Ayala. I did forget the name of the song though. You guys are doin great. Keep it up!
