A rare tropical cyclone has made landfall on the Arabian peninsula, killing at least nine people in Oman and Iran.
Cyclone Shaheen hit their coastlines, reaching wind speeds of up to 150 kilometres per hour.
Shaheen was downgraded to a tropical storm after reaching Oman but authorities in Muscat are warning of heavy flooding in low-lying areas.

The cyclone Shaheen was initially cyclone gulab, which made landfall on the eastern coast of India. It then travelled over central India to reach the Arabian sea. Thus there it again became cyclone Shaheen. This is a very rare case
