12. Cool! I’d love to,experience one, in an safe structure of course…just to feel the raw power of nature. We get maybe a tiny tremor here in Toronto, every 10 years or more, but it’s so small, you never feel them. It may sound nuts, but I’d give anything to experience a powerful quake. I know the survival skills (as part of my medical training…weird considering we NEVER get earthquakes) if ever I’m lucky enough to feel one..but it will never happen. Toronto and the surrounding area has the most boring natural events on the planet! The odd tornado hits, but ALWASY far north of the city, we’re too far inland for a hurricane (we did have one actually, hurricane Hazel, way before I was born), no volcanoes, no major floods (the entire city is built on a gently sloping hill to the waterfront), only small ones rarely, not even a blizzard…the worst I’ve seen was an awesome rain storm on July 8th, 2013…the rain was like Niagara Falls…SO cool!! I had 6 inches of water on my balcony because it was pouring down so fast, it couldn’t drain off the ledge in time.but that’s it! They say the Niagara peninsula has something to do with keeping the city free of dangerous storms, but just once I want to witness a quake, a hurricane, or something that shows then;owner of nature. I’m on the 20th floor in a solid concrete building…no,storm could really damage the city, our construction codes are amongst the strictest on earth, and we build with concrete and rebar (as opposed to the states method of using steel I beams, which are much weaker then concrete)…so come on nature, give us your best shot! It’s so boring here!!! I want to see what nature can do…we can easily survive anything you throw at us unscathed, maybe a broken window or two…I dare you to do your worst!
