  1. Is it just Ironic at 8:03 she uses a kitchen tongs to get the ducklings I do love abit of Duck for Sunday dinner ?? haha ?
    But
Joking aside Respect goes out too everyone who does a Good deed like this in the video.

  2. I may be being dumb, but why does the title tell us NOT to do random acts of kindness and then spend most of its run time saying how amazing they are?

  3. All the charities listed are absolute garbage, consider donating on something important, there's some good charities that deal with pediatric cancer for example. Just that would be much better than the crap listed.

  4. These kind acts are so beautiful and they give me hope for the human race, as else there is so much evil out there, we need more of this to offset the bad

  5. i dont understand the title?
regardless… altruism may be good, but it always should be known that its not objectively so. good intentions can lead to a worse outcome and its pretty safe to assume that people act good to avoid feeling bad – so in the end, we only help ourselves really. most of the examples are great to listen to, but keep in mind that they all were recorded (hence letting people know how great you are is part of it) and that only those with a beneficial impact are published/remembered. you dont see the cases were several people more die, because an unskilled guy with good intention made a situation worse.
and some of the examples imo were simply blown out of proportion… its the duty of firefighters to react, thats what they get paid for. how is this altruistic? and renovating a car for your father i can hardly see as compassionate either, but more as a sign of family love or gratefulness. its nothing more than an expensive gift to your father.
dont get the wrong idea, most of these videos picture great deeds – but imagine if you had cancer and someone shaved his head for you. sure its a nice gesture and we are obliged to be thankful, but in the end it does not help at all but take away attention from someone thats sick to someone that is oh so awesome. guess what – their hair will grow back and losing them with chemo treatment really is the least inconvenience about it.

then there is the case of worms i wont even open about what psychology calls the moral free ticket where people feel entitled to behave worse on average since they acted good once.

  6. This is what people are like truly. The TV, news, media etc paints a picture of a dead, cruel place full of animociity and hate, that we are all horrible, unkind and selfish, but remove these highly edited and censored dramas from your lifes view and the world is a wonderful place. Dont believe the lies.

  7. I don’t see why we should be satisfied with a slight increase in the standards of factory farming and animal farming in general. Why not end it entirely? It’s our choice.

Many people do not ‘need’ to eat animals. They have alternatives. Much of the worst of it is done by the top few percent. They don’t ‘need’ animal foods. There’s no excuse for most other than greed

  8. Im just not sure you can simply project numbers of having less kids in Western countries, on places like Afrika. Its connected with a lot of stigma's, religions and believes.

  9. well, charities are nice, its not like all of them had to finance their management, pay their employees, offices, fund the campaign to raise awareness both about their chosen issue and their name so ppl donate to them etc etc.
One is lucky if majority of what is donated goes to the claimed purpose but for many charities its not the case.
Charities in most cases are pure vanity and tax evasion projects for ppl wanting to be seen as moral but not wanting to work to actually be one and most importantly pay for it from their own pocket. Not to mention many charities also provide enough income to their founder and public face to support their lavish lifestyle
Its the same case like US healthcare- if you have myriad of individual providers of basically the same service you end up with huge bill for modest service. We already have organisation thats build for and paid for helping other ppl and organise collective actions- state.
if all those money that are wasted in all those charities were collected as taxes( which they often should be in many of cases) we would do much more good and for much less.
It works in healthcare so maybe its time to get rid of this Anglo-saxon obsession with private charities established mainly to promote their benefactors name. Its funny its seen as moral act for rich ppl to shame the poor to give up part of their often meagre income and who already recycle more and live much more sustainablel lifestyle( due economic necessity as when one can hardly pay ones rent each month they dont tend to jet around the world visiting their multiple mansions much) to support some celebritys flavour of the month cause while those very same celebrities and their friends could fund it fully themselves while still remaining filthy rich for multiple lives.
We have nothing to lose and lot to save id we try to pay actual taxes to the state instead of donations to charity as many charities has as a shady and corrupt background as any 3rd world government but without even the nominal public oversight and theoretic democratic control so even if it wont work we cant do much worse really.

  10. I'm convinced there is more good in humanity than bad. Sad to see the bad get's so much attention. The world should be flooded with good messages instead. Very good video. Love Stephen Fry.

  11. I never knew how selfish I was till I saw this video. Consumed in this rat race, I feel life dwindling yet this video showed life is out there, amongst other people.

  12. Loved every second of this video… I could listen to this voice all day every day… By the way – did anybody see the snake next to the elephant (top right corner at 13:41).

  13. Being a dad of 2 girls and being only 29, i nearly cried when i watched the head shaving bit. Anything to bring them a distraction and let them know your there for them. ?❤️❤️X

  14. I put these videos on when I'm feeling mad at the world.

They're a great reminder that there are still good people about and NOT ALL NEWS IS BAD!
Unlike our great MSM who have a stream of horrible stories constantly churning through the media cycle.

  15. Random acts of kindness is a wonderful thing. Consistent acts of kindness will help us all to make this planet a home for millenia to come.

  16. I kind of feel for the first part about how much power the western salaries actually hold. I miself, from eastern europe cannot truly complain as i manage, but one day after going to university, completing my cadet training, getting promoted to engineering officer for a merchant ship, and having the bad luck of witnessing som many horrifying accidents and went months without propper sleep and food, one day, as i layed on the metal floor, covered in oil, exhausted, was thinking how many americans working at mcdonalds earn more than me. At first that annoyed me, i was jealous, but always think that there's always someone that has it worse than you.

  17. This is the true nature of people.
Most of the media thrives on algorithms that produce anger and fear, which they know increases viewership and dollars, at the expense
    of humanity.
    We must turn this around.

  18. To answer that last line: no, no you're not.
There is no universe in which I'd believe that Mr Fry have nothing better to do, than to read my online ramblings.

So, instead I'd like to wish a nice day to that anonymous person/people, tasked with monitoring the comment section. Have a good one.

  19. The problem is many of the situations these animals find themselves in are caused by human interference, so while its nice that there are people trying to undo human errors the key issue is to prevent these issues from happening in the first place.
