15. More pistons does not always equate to more reliable HP! I am going to say it will not be a win for Mercury but if Carl were here today, he would figure it out and turn it into a win. The Tower of Power!! Those were magical beasts to watch!! Especially in the late 60's. Mercury was a game changer back in the day. The biggest of innovation to say the least!

17. I almost sank a 240 sundeck when I worked for marine max. We launched the boat with the plug out, and didn't realize it until the water was over the starter! I Jumped in the water and put the plug in and started bailing water. Barely saved it, I docked it at the customer's house and didn't say shit. I'm not proud of it, but it is a funny story for everyone but the boat owner.

18. It was so nice to see that the kid was wearing a life jacket. Any buoyancy device, presuming that its properly designed, should make you float face up. I was on a boat doing about 9kts. when an elderly gentleman fell over the side, he was not wearing a life jacket. The sea temperature was about 10°C (50°F) and he went into shock and was floating face down. Two people had to jump overboard to save him. Please always wear a life jacket when you are on a boat.

29. My Thoughts? How about it's way too heavy! The WHOLE POINT of an outboard, over alternative engine types, is that it's supposed to weigh a lot less! At least not weigh more than an inboard by 500 pounds! Wtf kind of transom does that take?! Nobody will have just one, of those motors, right?. So right outta the gate, we're looking at 2,400 pounds, minimum, hanging off your transom! ? Also, outboards are also supposed to be cheaper than an inboard. Not FIVE TIMES more expensive than a (gently used) V8 PCM complete drivetrain!
    This could be good for mercury.
    Or, it could be their FFI moment. ?
