Can you explain a little bit more what you mean by “drainage zone” with a “chimney pipe?” I have a hardpan clay hill where water is tunneling through the slope, and based on this video, it sounds like I need a drainage zone with a chimney pipe.
i love you stan but i wanna see more machine work and jobs instead of you talking about it and also you can still talk about it but less just my opinion
Homeland security? Well we can see where our tax dollars are going. SOmeone at Homeland security is sitting on their ass plotting where to buy his new vacation home while greenlighting grading and slide jobs.
Homeland security, Really? I guess landslides are now a risk to national security?
Just a question, why arent you americans use The rotortilt for exavators? Like The ones we use here in sweden, makes The Jobs sooooo mutch easier and faster. Thx
So why didn't you guys use the proper equipment to apply the compactive effort to your backfill section? I see a larger turtle plate like a P6555 that compacts with energy when it should be compacted to 88 to 92 percent. So you putting back wet material that you just removed lot help that is s! Moisture conditioning the prior is probably a great idea first
Heavy rain falls and high water tables are two fickle things to deal with
Watching this, I right away thought of the 12/15 job where you had to import a bunch of topsoil to accommodate a customer's wish for increased yard space with a too-steep slope near the back access road, then rain plus lack of established vegetation on high pitch terrain resulted in a muddy nightmare of a landslide. The drainage chimneys came to mind for this project as well. I guess…never time/money to do it correctly, but always there to do it over again, right? Like tearing down a blown engine and and using worn-out parts to reassemble it.
Wow! Natural disasters are crazy. Everyone I see blows my mind. It's been my favorite focus to make documentaries on for awhile now.
i am sure osha is all about this site 😉 you got close to a 6 foot vertical cut in saturated soil and your guy saying he will just ride the slide out….
got to love government bureaucracy.
Always wear your brown pants when operating heavy machinery on a steep, wet slope.
when it fails again we will know why
Such detailed information in all your projects my friend, really helpful information how you break everything down for your customers. I'm trying to get a feel for the retaining walls and doing drain pipes and some grading but I found its more difficult bidding those kind of jobs than my normal mowing and landscaping. Is there any sites that I can dive deeper in that info? Thanks in advance
Love the video Stan, do you currently have video on the business end of landscaping, such as insurance, banking, taxes, accounting. Thanks again Stan.
Another great vid. I really appreciate the way you explain everything. It make all the difference when watching…
From start to finish how many hours or days were you guys on site?
