Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, was hit by the most powerful earthquake to strike the city in 140 years while its population was in Covid-19 lockdown, and this footage shows the aftermath.

The aerial video, captured on March 22 by structural engineer Mislav Stepinac, shows just how much damage has been caused to buildings, with a number of roofs destroyed.

The epicentre of the 5.3 magnitude quake was four miles north of Zagreb and it was followed by smaller tremors.

Several people were injured and one person was reportedly killed.
