Not the Best Day... But Great Indian Japanese Food

►Osaka Food Guide: http://migrationology.com/2015/09/osaka-food-guide-japan/

I have to admit Day 13 went nothing like I wanted it to or as I had planned… but that sometimes happens in travel (and life), and we can get frustrated and annoyed, or we can make the most of it and try to look for the good and positive.

00:56 Ghar Curry家 – After trying to go to a few other restaurants that were all closed, we finally found Ghar Curry家, a restaurant that just happened to be open near where we already were. The food, which was Indian but with Japanese influence, turned out to be really good. If you are looking for amazing curry, they are doing a wonderful job.

Ghar Curry家
Address: 西区京町堀1-9-10-103, Osaka, Japan 550-0003
Open hours: 11:30 am – 2 pm for lunch daily, 6 pm – 10 pm for dinner on weekdays only
Prices: My lunch curry cot 850 JPY
Website: http://ghar-curry.com/
How to get there: Take the subway to Hommachi station, take Exit 28, and it’s just a short walk from there.

4:22 Osaka Aquarium (Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan) – One of the final things we wanted to do in Osaka was go to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. It turned out to be really wonderful… but unfortunately since it was a holiday, it was extremely busy – it was basically single file through the entire Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, but nevertheless, it was a great place to visit. We paid 2,550 JPY for entrance, which included an all day subway pass for Osaka.

6:18 Tempozan Ferris Wheel – 800 JPY ($6.67) – After the aquarium, we headed over to the Tempozan Ferris Wheel and had a nice rice on the wheel with a great view of Osaka. I thought it was well worth it.

For dinner we ate at a ramen restaurant called Nosta Osaka in the Namba area, but unfortunately they didn’t want me to film – so sorry I can’t show you any of it. The ramen was alright, with a big portion, but it was a bit too salty.

Not the best day in Osaka, but still alright.

Stay tuned for tomorrow – a big final food day!

  1. 2:40 According to the menu, this ball is 'Kofta' made from minced lamb, squash and cheese. Kofta is, as you may know, popular cuisine in Central Asia.
4:54 Kaiyukan literally means sea play aquarium.

  2. Thanks for being so understanding and patient on your video. Ken Domik would have complained all video and talk smack about the restaurants

  3. There is not just Basmati Rice to India,i.e.,we have more varities of rice produced & consumed in India. It is staple of many states in India. Joha rice,Bora rice, ijung rice, brown rice, red rice etc. are few of the many varities produced in India..You need to research a lot more about India

  4. Great video Mark as always, but the Osaka Ferris wheel is in the 6th place, it is 123 (404). The tallest Ferris wheels are High Roller in Las Vegas at 167.6 (550), Singapore Flyer at 165 (541), and Star of Nanchang at 160 (525). There you have it top 3 in the world.

  5. Mr Wiens, I love your trips in which you try the typical food, but, you put all the food spicy chili, then how can you appreciate the food? and also eat very large bites, you are a man who many people follow you, is unpleasant.
    Excuse my sincerity
    Regards

  6. Not sure if you'll read this, Mark, but even given the challenges of the day you had in this video, you never get down and always have a smile on your face and a positive outlook. Great work and safe travels to you, Ying and (since the posting of this video) your adorable son, Micah. Thanks–hope to visit some of your locales someday! Keep it up!

  7. Why are people commenting on his reaction.. its not overreaction.. its pure passion for food.. and we old subscribers love him for that

  8. I don't trust restaurants that don't allow customers to take pictures/videos. Even the best & busiest restaurants that I've been to allow such privelege. It's not just for free advertising but we want to remember what we ate on that day as reference for next visit. Guess I'll skip that one ramen shop when I visit Osaka again
