NATALIE TAKES OVER THE TRACTOR DRIVERS SEAT.
AFTER SHE FINDS THE RIGHT TRACTOR 🙂
_______

Dear viewer: Just another day on the ranch. We mix things up and have a little fun as husband teaches me to drive the tractor. I do know how, Ive driven it before, but I go so long between drives that I always forget how and usually need a refresher. After finishing haying cattle we bringyou along to work cattle. Specifically we are vaccinating and then pouring/spraying for lice. It’s a fun video if I do say so myself 🙂 I even manage to throw in another bob reference 🙂

Hi Friends. We’re the Kovarik’s – a family of four ranching in central Nebraska. We’re a first generation ranch sourcing our knowledge and work ethic from our 5th generation roots. Most days are a simple mess of family moments we’ve collected out in pasture on horseback or bouncing around in some dusty ranch trunk or tractor, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Luke’s the main rancher around here so we try and do what he tells us, but truth be told, were not always listening. Natalie is one hell of a #ranchwife who holds the home and acres together, and Tad (14) and Jaks (18 mos) are our two wild cowboys who depending on the day fluctuate between “literally no help” and “wow you were helpful I think we’ll keep you”. At the end of the day we’re just a typical rural American family living the rural American dream. So sit back, hang out and join us as we spend our days ranching & family-ing.

  1. Some people just want to win the lottery , then the rest of us just want what you two have as a relationship. Just saying. From Melbourne Australia.

  2. Two things I hate doing Shots for our horses and branding, The smell of hot branding makes me Terribly sick. So we went to freeze branding, I have kind of the same kind of brand, But you put the brand in Liquid Nitrogen and do the same as Y'all do by touching the Horses fur, But for only about 30 seconds, If you go longer it puts a awful burn on them and they are scared for life, Ask me I did it by accident.

  3. Hatalie it’s fine to chew chewing gum, I chew chewing gum and smoke as well , even at church well i did until the new vicar insisted I leave, miserable bugger, took my money back out of the collection though on my way out for more cigarettes, that’ll show him, hate miserable people anyway.??? Hatalie wasn’t a spelling mistake just a reference to your cowboy ? hat.??

  4. Lice die late spring because the skin of an animal gets too hot for them. Also wintercoat is thrown together with eggs.
So it is unfortunatly a bit a waist of money to treat for lice late winter. Both components in Your pour-on are pretty bad for soil life and waters, even more reason to use it in an efficient way.
Use it twice (forget irg) at day 1 and 21 on ALL of Your cattle in LATE fall. After day 1 put them in a clean fields like a hayfield or cropland til it has been really cold for while to prevent reinfection and eggs on trees and poles get killed by adverse weather.
Quarantine an treat animals bought in twice during 4 weeks.

If You follow this this protocol in detail Your succes rate for getting the herd free of lice is almost 100% and chances of reinfection are low, so possibly no need for pour-on for a couple of years. Good luck!

  5. That hay delivery truck was very interesting. Learning how to load the hay in the hay caddy was fun. Jaxs is an adorable scene stealer. Let us watch you bake sometime.
