They were notified of a sweet girl, in an emergency case, estimated at a young 7 months old…..left to die, locked in a crate by a dumpster in Houston.
She was brought in to their emergency veterinarian team and, as expected, is in critical condition. She is severely anemic, with a heart murmur, and horrific open wounds. Parasites have taken over her young frail body and she is not able to eat. For now, our immediate goal is to get her stabilized, but in the long term, she will require significant round the clock rehabilitation, along with blood transfusions, and intense medical care. Despite her condition, she struggled to lay her head on the shoulder of our volunteer, letting her know that she has not given up on her beloved humans, and we simply cannot let her down.
Looking at her poor broken body absolutely breaks our hearts. How many people ignored her for her to reach this state? Starving, bruised, scared, and broken….. She deserves better!!..
