We Spent Two Weeks In A Small Village To Help 40 Dogs | Howl Of A Dog
Spread The Viralist

That the number of abandoned and stray dogs is of epic proportions in Romania is nothing new and has made our country “famous” worldwide. It is a complicated problem, with roots spread everywhere, from the most simple people to the highest, corrupted institutions. But there is still hope and we have met so many people who are willing to change and learn, who love their animals so much, but just lack support or information.
This is an educational and free dog neuter program that Catalin and I organized in September 2019, we posted some highlights at that time, but it is only now that I managed to finish the video. If you follow Howl Of A Dog, you know that we are going through a very difficult period. Catalin, Howl Of A Dog co-founder, passed away in October 2019. It is hard to put into words what a wonderful person he was and how much he loved all animals! His passing leaves a painful void in the lives of everyone who knew him, but his memory will live forever in our hearts and through all the animals he saved and helped.
We are enormously grateful to all our donors! During this campaign we neutered/spayed 40 dogs, provided free vaccinations, medical care, de-worming and flea treatment, microchipping and health books. This project was possible only thanks to your wonderful support and we are confident that together we can make greater steps in this journey of preventing and ending animal cruelty and suffering.
We also want to say a huge thank you to the amazing medical team from Vetlink Resita for joining us in this project.
THANK YOU!!!
Diana Badescu

  1. Most people forget that dogs were domesticated by us humans. They can no longer survive successfully without us. They are social animals. They need us for more than food and water. They NEED us for companionship and love. It is our duty to take care of them. If not from the heart, then from a sense of "they are my responsibility" and I will act accordingly. Don't turn your back on them. Rather take them to a place where they can receive what they need to live life. As you, yourself, wishes to live.

  2. I'm so happy to see you providing free health care and neutering to dogs in the country. And educating the public on caring for their animals! As a child, visiting relatives in the country in Romania (I'm from the US), it would often upset me to see how dogs were treated. But I'm glad to see that this is changing. Well done! I'm happy to donate to support these efforts.

  5. Thanking you all for tirelessly carrying this challenging yet very fulfilling and rewarding work. The great thing about helping dogs is they are forever thankful and happy that there are people like you who came to change their lives for the better. Thanking also the locals who are learning to see the beauty of your work.

  12. such a beautiful initiative, the government should really be supporting a team driving around with a medical team, to get the dog/cat population under control

  13. The residents and the dogs in the village are so mellow. They don't talk much, the feelings between the dogs and the owners are just so naturally there through few words and eye contacts. The staff and volunteers are gentle and quiet. Howl of A Dog is an organization with grace and beauty in their heart, with the kindest compassionate spirit fighting for dogs in this harsh world.

  14. I have seen videos from the surrounding countries where dogs and cats are mistreated and abused by the local population. I’ve been telling the guardian angels who provide these animals with selfish care to create and implement a spay/neuter program to avoid unwanted puppies. I’m very happy and extremely surprise that your organization is providing the much-needed help they seen to lack. Congratulations on your endeavor and I hope you’ll expand these services in the adjacent countries. The people there need to be educated about how they should treat and care for the fur-babies.
