  1. Just a pointer from a professional cinematographer (currently working on Star Trek discovery).. Use a matte box. I was thinking an LMB 5 clip on. Get a set of 4×5.6 glass ND filters and in the 2nd tray put a top grad. As well there is something going on focus wise. Get your self an FF4 meat focus or even better have someone pull from off set on a small HD 703 monitor with the peaking set just right. The focus is ok however it looks like you are shooting at T 5.6 with an internal ND of 1.2? at 800 ISO? Daylight should be 2.1 ND @ T 4 @ 800 ISO. Our mission on the big feature films is to keep a stop that is wide open while compensating with either external or internal ND's @ 800 ISO. Red was my wheelhouse for 15 years so I think its a great sensor however consider the Sony Venice or the most popular and widely used Alexa mini if you have the budget. At the end of the day its all about the glass (lenses) and keeping it sharp. With my suggested set up it will be almost impossible to keep things sharp but thats why we have a dedicated 1st AC on the knob. With that narrow depth of field the image takes on new life. Also surf your color temperature going from 5600 to 10000 as it gets later in the day. I like your channel JB. If you ever want to step things up I have some sic tricks up my sleeve and would love to show you a few things.. If anything your image has been consistent and thats a start but thats what you get from having a grom operating! just kidding Jackson! Must be nice to live in paradise and not spend your whole life in a smokey studio lugging the massive cameras and carts like we do..
