Street Crossing Trouble

An unidentified man was lucky that he wasn’t totally sideswiped by a speeding car that almost hit him as he crossed a street. He didn’t look both ways before stepping out into the street and the driver of the car seems to have not cared at all about hitting him. We’re sure the driver saw the man in front of them, but they didn’t slow down at all. The driver didn’t even try to veer off to the side, despite the fact that they had plenty of space to do so. It was such a close call that the back of the pedestrian’s shoe was hit by the car, sending it flying into the air. If he had only been a tiny bit slower he would almost certainly have been killed.

Lucky Lightning Strike

When a severe storm hits, most people choose to stay indoors in order to keep themselves safe. Not everybody is that smart, however. One man in Texas took his life in his hands when he decided to take his dogs out for a walk at a nearby park in the middle of a torrential downpour. The conditions were miserable to say the least and we can’t imagine why he thought that walking his three dogs in the middle of a massive thunderstorm was a good idea. He definitely didn’t consider the danger he was putting himself – and his dogs – in when he decided to brave the elements that day. A security camera that was installed in a nearby veterinary clinic captured footage of him struggling through the intense wind and rain when all of a sudden it revealed a bright light that seemed to shoot out from the bottom of his feet. The man, Alex Coreas, of Spring, Texas, toppled almost immediately after the bright flash, lying on the ground motionless until rescuers put their own lives in danger to save him. What’s most puzzling about the lightning strike that almost killed him was that there was no sign of a bolt either before or after he went down. Still, it’s clear that he was definitely struck by lightning. Coreas ended up being brought back from the brink of death by an employee who worked at the veterinary clinic, aided by a few brave passersby. He spent quite a long time recovering in the intensive care unit at a local hospital and almost didn’t make it. He had to learn how to eat and talk again and things could have easily been much worse for him if a few quick-thinking strangers hadn’t sprung into action and come to his rescue.

Telephone Poles Save Lives

Three very lucky people had one hell of a close call when the were miraculously saved from being hit by an out of control vehicle thanks to a well-placed telephone pole. Two people were walking side by side on the sidewalk and a third person was walking in the road itself when a driver lost control of their car, sending it skidding violently towards all three of them. Things looked grim for the group of pedestrians, as the car was travelling quite quickly. If it had actually hit any of them they would have been seriously injured if not outright killed in the collision. Nobody realized what sort of danger they were in until the car crashed into a telephone pole on the side of the street. That’s when they all jumped and turned around, frozen in absolute panic. The car bounced into the street, luckily missing the person walking in the road, coming to a full stop in the opposite lane and facing the other way. It seems that even the passengers in the vehicle were okay, as you can see them moving around in the car. The pedestrians all moved out of the way a bit and you can tell that they were all in serious shock. They can be seen comforting each other after their near-death experience. They then walk off camera and it’s unclear whether or not they simply took a seat to compose themselves or if they took off. Nobody seems to care much about the driver of the vehicle that hit the pole, instead being more worried about the pedestrians and their close call.
