Heavy rain hit the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais causing destructive flooding and landslides.
Videos from the state capital Belo Horizonte show cars being swept away in waist-high water after the rain had turned roads into rushing rivers.
According to local media, at least 60 people have died as a consequence of the extreme weather conditions.
