In US news and current events today, Australians are coming together to save their country’s wildlife from the devastating wildfires gripping South Wales and other areas.

Citizens have frequently stopped to offer water to thirsty animals, including koalas, cows, and kangaroos.

Wildlife rehabilitation orgs, including Koalas in Care have been treating koalas suffering from shock, dehydration, and burns.

As of January 7, 2020 the fires have burned more than 12M acres, killed 25 people and 1 billion plus animals. The fires have raged since September 2019.

Here are some of the most heroic moments captured on video.

  1. Experts were ignored, fuel loads were known to be high, funding cuts contributed to worse damage.

    Why isn't real news reported?

  2. bless your kind souls for helping preserve nature and keep the animals safe and recovered. the koala is burnt 80%. it feels horible to see this. 1/3 land of australia burnt from bushfire and 1 billion animals are lost.. ????kangaroos

  3. aw 🙁
i’m happy there are people out there doing this and really helping the animals out there!!
and as a comment had said, it’s really sad since it had gotten to a point where the animals are willingly going to humans for help, which is something they really fear doing and is very shocking that they had,,
i really, really wish that this get better,,
it’s really tough seeing and hearing about
this, as well as people also having to go through this and lose so many things to this as well,,
i wish the best and thank you again to all these kind people stepping in to help,,

  4. This is the power of the Australian people doing anything to save our wildlife great job guys. cheers from Perth WA I am just hoping this passes by soon

  5. I had no idea how easy Americans were to miss lead until I read these comments. 200 people have NOT been arrested for lighting the fires. The ones claiming that took 12 months worth of fire incidents (which includes accidental fires, people lighting campfires during fire bans and people back burning on private property unlawfully) and started reporting that everyone on the list started the fires we're having now, the reality is most of the people they're claiming have been charged weren't even fined! They were only cautioned.

  6. So the entire world spends billions on their Military programmes, ready to bomb or invade any place, at any given time. At the same time they cant come together, and use all their resources, planes, etc to save these animals and the priceless nature of Australia?

  7. Disasters even though bring out the worst in human kind, also brings out the BEST in human kind, lets not forget that latter part of that good people are doing great things out there for these animals

  8. Does anyone know how people around the world can possibly help? I'd like to do something about it… please tell me if they're raising money or need volunteers… pls if anyone knows!!!

  9. Today's climate change and GLOBAL WARMING is completely due to human interference. Global warming is not new to earth. We've already had it during the dinosaurs. The asteroid was the reason they got extinct but it just landed the final blow. They would have died anyways. The global warming then was due to natural factors. Mostly overpopulation leading to increasing temperatures of the atmosphere. But guess what? The dinosaurs ruled the earth for over 175 million years and they would've survived for a couple million more if not for the asteroid. Humans appeared about 7 million years ago. We're probably going to exhaust all the natural resources within the next 1000 years or less(yes its that bad for those who don't know). We're not inhabitants anymore, we're parasites that are consuming earth. We're consuming it from the outside in as we go deeper until there is nothing left. And yet people are not bothered. No one wants to save the world. Yes there will be fires and storms and tsunamis and whatnot and humans will be the last to suffer.
Sorry I got angry and very upset after seeing the crying koala. ???
No hating plss. Am an Indian. Already dealing with a lot of hate in this country.
