Drawing upon years of experience refurbishing vintage tape echos from all over the world as well as developing their own custom replacement parts from pinch rollers to heads, Echo Fix have come up with their dream tape echo unit that not only tackles all the shortcomings and reliability issues of vintage units but adds features for the modern musician.
At the core of the EF-X2 is an all analog multi-head tape echo with a genuine spring tank. You can then mix in a separate DSP reverb or turn that into chorus which can add extra modulation to the tapes natural wow & flutter. Like the legendary Space Echo, the tape flows freely to avoid friction and hangups, while a custom motor morphs the delay time by speeding up or down, which can now be controlled remotely with great precision by CV or Exp. Plus, a custom preamp matches the guitar’s correct impedance as well as line level for other instruments and synths. Echo tone and mix are fully tweakable as well as the spring reverb mix and decay time/chorus depth of the DSP effects. Other features include footswitchable reverb and echo mute and a motor kill switch to not only save on wear and tear but give you classic UFO crash landing sounds anytime. The Echo Fix EF-X2 is hand-built in Australia with great attention to detail and high quality components to make this unit fully ready for the road in addition to the studio.

  1. This unit is so cool, and what a great demo! Thanks Andy! Tempting to sell a couple things to fund this inspiration machine. Seems like an "all day pedal" to me 🙂

  2. Andy is like " Catalinwho?" Seriously I have watched a lot of his demo's and never him seen him so happy. Plus he really makes the most of the unit and handles it with aplomb, not like that's new though. I, on the other hand, would successfully make the unit sound broken; it's a talent.

  3. People seriously complain about the price? It's obviously not for some random coffeeshop gig. It's for the studio. You can spend 5 times on a microphone. If you think the digital emulation on your favorite delay is close enough, it's obviously not for you. You can't say the value isn't there just cuz it's expensive
