21. Greedy lumber companies stripping the hills of trees makes the ground unstable! One of trees purpose is to stabilize the ground on hillsides!

    A brief look at aerial shots shows repeated slides in that valley same side of the river, it's a shoreline of glacial lake Russell, a delta-moraine being steepened by the river.
