Police body cam video #1 – Los Angeles, California, US, July 27, 2018 – On July 27, 2018, around 10:15 p.m., uniformed officers assigned to Mission Patrol Division conducted an investigative vehicle stop in the 9000 block of Noble Avenue. The subject of the stop was later identified as Richard Mendoza. The officers approached Mendoza, who was the driver and sole occupant of his vehicle. Upon making contact, the officers verbally confirmed Mendoza was still on Federal Probation and requested he step out of the vehicle. When he did so, Mendoza produced a semiautomatic pistol and, without warning, began firing rounds at the officers, resulting in an Officer Involved Shooting. One officer was struck by one of the rounds fired by Mendoza. She received medical care at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) personnel and was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound and is listed in stable condition. Mendoza was struck by gunfire. LAFD Rescue Ambulance transported Mendoza to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Officers located and recovered a .380 caliber semiautomatic pistol from the scene.

Police body cam video #2 – Las Vegas, Nevada, US, October 10, 2018 – Las Vegas police shot and killed a DUI suspect Wednesday morning after he fired at least one gunshot at officers responding to a three-vehicle crash in the southwest valley. The exchange of gunfire occurred after the man crashed about 7:15 a.m. near South Rainbow Boulevard and Gary Avenue, close to Blue Diamond Road. Witnesses would later tell detectives that the man hid an object – later determined to be a gun – in a bush near the roadway before officers arrived at the scene of the crash, Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Jamie Prosser said at a late-morning news briefing. During the investigation into the crash, the man refused to take a field sobriety test after appearing to be under the influence, police said. Instead, Prosser said, he ran from officers into an adjacent desert area, picked up the gun and fired at least one shot toward police. Two officers fired back and hit the man, who died at the scene.

Police body cam video #3 – Los Angeles, California, US, September 15, 2018 – On September 15, 2018, a female victim walked into the front lobby of Rampart Area station and advised the officers that the suspect, later identified as Tyler Evans, was now outside of the Rampart Station armed with a firearm. The victim further advised the officers that on September 14, 2018, she filed a Domestic Violence report naming Evans as the suspect. Rampart uniformed officers along with a Rampart supervisor responded to the front of the station, contacted Evans and attempted to apprehend him. Evans refused to comply with the officers’ directions, resulting in the deployment of a 40mm less lethal munition. Evans then reached into his pant pocket, retrieved a handgun and suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Evans was pronounced dead at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics. No officers were injured during the incident and a firearm was recovered at scene.

Police body cam video #4 – Las Vegas, Nevada, US, December 1, 2018 – The police shooting occurred near Sunrise Avenue and North 18th Street, police said. The man was driving fast and in a reckless manner so officers attempted a vehicle stop. The officer requested that driver get out of the car. When he did, the suspect was reaching for a bulky item at his waist and he refused to follow officer commands. The confrontation turned physical before the officer pulled out a Taser and used it. The subject did fall to the ground, but got back up and charged the officer. A second physical fight started and the officer pulled his gun and fired it at the suspect an undetermined number of times.

Police body cam video #5 – Los Angeles, California, US, October 11, 2018 – On October 11, 2018 LAPD Mounted Unit Officers became involved in an incident with a suspect armed with a razor blade in the Hollywood Area. They used both a bean bag and a baton to take him into custody, this after minutes of talking to him in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.
