Pahurat (พาหุรัด), located just a five minute walk from Yaowarat Chinatown in Bangkok, Thailand, is the Little India of Thailand. Though it’s a small area, Pahurat is packed with all kinds of interesting Indian merchandise, textiles, cloth, and a few reputable Indian restaurants.

Though I haven’t yet been to India (I would love to go soon), I sometimes go to Pahurat (พาหุรัด) to explore and of course dine of delicious Indian food.

In this video after doing a little walking around and checking out the area, I went over to one of my favorite street side Indian restaurants in Bangkok – a small eatery known as Toney Restaurant.

Indian food in Bangkok is not normally overly cheap, in fact it’s been marketed as quite an expensive cuisine and often housed in nicer sit down restaurants. However, Pahurat (พาหุรัด), there is plenty of Indian food available and many things are quite a bit cheaper than other Indian restaurants in town.

So next time you visit Bangkok, be sure to stop by Pahurat for street food and exploration!

  2. Mark, how your videos have changed over the years! Especially the techno rave as the background music! I would love to see a full street food tour of Little India as I don't think you've done one yet 🙂

  3. เป็นคนไทยที่ไม่เคยไปเดินพาหุรัด ต้องมาดูคลิปฝรั่งรีวิว 55+

  4. Could watch due to the terrible "music" soundtrack you included. Use something aimed at a wider audience. If you get get musicians (like myself), we will go elsewhere immediately.

  5. Sigh, I tried this as the vid looked really convincing. Sad to say that this is a pretty disappointing joint. NOT an authentic Indian food place to any account but maybe a Nepali place. Gave it a 2nd try as I must have missed something but still you really do get what you pay for. Curry and Masala missed the mark most definitely. Do yourselves a favor and save yourself the trip. I would definitely recommend Rainbow restaurant/hostel in Chakrabongse,Khao San serving real authentic Indian food and my weekly favorite plus great service. You should definitely give them a shot if you want authentic cuisine. Just my 2 cents.

  6. Bangkok it's an amazing city where you can find anything you wish to buy in special great food, it's huge the range of food you can find in Thailand and you know how to choose always the best dishes possible. Congratulations Mark Wiens, all your videos are very interesting and informative, perhaps we'll find one another at "Land of Smiles" to eat together the best Thai Food.
