Chengdu is famous for its tea culture, and People’s Park is THE place to come for an introduction. You can watch people dancing, and also watch a lot of classic Chinese activities! Watch the vid to find out! Please like: https://www.facebook.com/Foodrangin

People’s park is found directly in the centre of Chengdu, and is a famous park for it’s lively dance square in the centre of the park, where hundreds of people gather to exercise and have fun. Mostly middle aged/elders come to this park, so it’s an awesome place to get a feel for traditional Chinese activities.

People come here to dance, play majiang, play cards, sing karaoke, watch kung fu tea pouring ceremonies, watch dance shows, practice their calligraphy on the sidewalk with water brushes, drink tea, and most of all, relax.

With all these activities to participate in and watch, this park definitely stands out in Chengdu as one of the most lively and exciting parks to visit. This is NOT A quiet park, so if you come, make sure to come here for FUN! If you’re looking for a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of Chengdu, you can find it in this park in certain corners, but for the most part, it is very loud here!

  1. HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: https://ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

  2. Hmmm honestly and kindly suggest .. you may go to the other regions of China especially middle southern and northern part except Beijing….. Not all the regions are historically Self-sufficient ,Not all the regions have demi-independent culture , ,, this region you have been , it has long history been isolated from east part voluntarily ……..

  3. I can't believe I discovered The Food Ranger only two weeks ago. Love the food videos but PLEASE please make more videos of travel vignettes like this one.

  4. Wow this brings back a lot of memories! I used to visit here when my grandpa lived here, unfortunately now that he has passed away, I haven't been here in a while. I didn't expect to see my childhood on your channel. Great video!

  5. a famous Chinese saying is: The young man shouldn't go and live in Sichuan and the old man shouldn't move out Sichuan, especially Chengdu. I think because the life tempo there is relatively slower than other regions and there are a lot of things for leisure, so it's very suitable for the old to enjoy the rest of their lives but may let the young man lose their willing to fight.

  6. I've never been to that part of China before, but excellent job on the video sir. A lot of the parks in China have folks singing and dancing, but I don't see a lot of demonstrations in the parks here in Southern China.

  7. It's like the Central Park of Chengdu! Have to say I do love the random dancing bit. You should have joined in lol. Great video though, Trevor! I think it's a good side project and it compliments the food videos really well. Looking forward to what other places you show us around!
