  1. I work in these situations every day and in my whole career I've been lucky enough to not experience this and i hope i never ever do it's constantly on my mind every time I'm in a panel

  2. I'm a retired industrial electrician, I was in five electrical explosion they are no fun at all. the heat generated is about as hot as the sun. you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times. this poor man was not fully trained for the job he was in. the stories that I have would be too detailed to tell hear.

  3. I work industrial repair and sometimes the procedures are so ridiculous at times and always having to do LOTO this and LOTO that. Watching these videos and hearing stories at work I don’t touch anything unless it’s locked out and tried out. It’s just part of life now as a norm. We work on 4160 everyday and the stuff scares the crap out of me.

  4. Man! When I was a kid I stuck a paperclip in an 110 volt electrical outlet… It through my ass 5 feet backwards… Eddie stuck a paperclip in a 2,400 volt electrical outlet… Ouch.

  5. Did that idiot really just say "You really have to TRY to get hurt." ? No, not electricity. The meter is your set of eyes. Then your set of eyes kills you before you can even see.. That fool should have been snipped out.

  6. The entirety of blame is not on Eddie as the company would want you to think. Someone had to either tell him specifically to work on that or at the very least mention it in his presence. Why was he working on it in first place? If he had no clue what he was dealing with then it means he was not trained. Training comes from supervisors. It's harsh but the co-workers aren't entirely wrong in saying it was a stupid thing to do because it was. That doesn't make Eddie a stupid person for making what turned out to be a huge mistake.

Every job forces timelines on their workers and they're usually unreasonable amounts of time to complete them in. Time is money. I worked at Target doing store set up in addition to stockroom tasks. We dealt with heavy shelving, being on ladders, moving heavy products, etc. There was so much pressure to get things done in half the time that occasionally we did things that could potentially cause injury although we would do our absolute best not to and personally I had zero issues asking for help when I needed it, time deadlines be damned. If I saw someone struggling I too would drop what I was doing to assist. So in that I understand Eddie's mentality of "always wanting to help".

  7. Does anyone else think it’s stupid to be wearing a long wallet chain, while filming a safety video because a co-worker had an accident in that very room? Does he not understand that he’s in a very large room with that buzzing high voltage sound! Seems to me that it’s a double fail!!!

  8. Can you please answer a question for me? If my house was causing enough static electricity to be throwing off the other houses in my neighborhood from there internet provider, what are the dangers to myself and my family? I kept feeling like there was some kind of electricity that was interfering with my health. My ears have been ringing for five or six or longer years then two years ago it got a lot louder. I've also been having lots of neurological symptoms and have been going to specialist trying to find out what's going on with me. Then my internet provider sent a guy out to tell me that my house was interfering with all the other houses in the neighborhood. So he checked out the wires and things in my backyard and put some kind of a new wire up there on the the big Pole. Then a couple of days later another guy from the same company came out and he was talking about having to install a ground wire I'm going to my house for that. I happen to know why they use ground wires so we don't all electrocute ourselves but they don't tell me much because they're covering their butts. Then a man from The Electric Company came out check everything and he said that everything looked fine up into my smart meter but that if I wanted to check things from the smart meter into the house I would have to hire an electrician. I'm wondering why both companies Representatives who contacted me we're being so extra nice to me and I think it's because they're worried I'm going to sue them. My granddaughter and I have been having terrible off the charts anxiety that's not from medication or nerves it's more man-made typo current going through our body is making our muscles ache giving us problems with sleeping headaches nausea stomach pain and loud ringing in my ears. How do I get somebody to listen to me so that they will remove the smart meter, since it's the only thing left that could be causing this problem? Also do you have any information you can give me about how this could have happened Etc.

  9. I saw the photo of Eddie at the beginning of this video. And after watching this video, I'm of the belief that Eddie was not long for this world one way or the other. It is a shame, though, that Eddie's demise was so gruesome.

  10. An ancient Chinese proverb: "A moment of caution may ward off great disaster a moment of haste may cost you your life"

In 1981 I was fatally electrocuted in a farming accident, thank god my co worker was a registered nurse and a scuba instruction, he restarted me like a warmed up two stroke.

  11. Did Eddie have family issues? I mean a seasoned and professional electrician doing something like that, maybe there's more to the story. Very sorry for their loss. A terrible tragedy.
