This Breed is very cute, but very very hard to teach them anything. Huge respects to the Shih Tzu owners who did teach them basic discipline. As a former german shepherd owner I cant understand thees little cute silly dogs. If You want a small dog but very intelligent then think about Dachshund or Jack Jack Russel Terrier. I better prefer German Shepherds and wolf like dogs. They actually can learn hundreds of words and are smarter than many people.
