At the end of Day After Tomorrow, the entire earth should've been warmer. It shouldn't have frozen half the US. More ocean surface area means more solar radiation retained because of the albedo difference of water vs ice. This results in more melting ice and thus warmer temperatures. Everything would be greener. It's a positive feedback loop. I'm currently taking a Physical Geography class and my professor only ever lectures about this.
Global Warming = the world gets warmer. Go figure.
