My old school is haunted. Its partly built on the site of an 18th century Manor House that legend had it the daughter of the owner drowned in a nearby pool during a storm when her carriage turned over into it. The library and the passage from the gym to the assembly hall where there is an original marble staircase are well known to be haunted and several students including good friends of mine and teachers have held overnight vigils there over the years and have seen an apparition floating between bookshelves and in the hallway. We all drew comparisons with the start of the ghostbusters movie when the film came out years afterwards.
