Rescued tigers, Carli and Lily, now have a new home at Safe Haven Rescue Zoo, a GFAS-verified wildlife sanctuary located in a very remote part of Nevada. Nestled in a high desert valley, guarded on all sides by towering mountain peaks, Safe Haven embodies an oasis.

While with ample peace and quiet, this sanctuary is subjected to extreme sun exposure and intense heat during a large portion of the year. Many sanctuaries, including Safe Haven, provide in-ground pools.

These girls were among the 19 exotic animals we helped confiscate almost a year ago from a failed facility in New York.

It is always exciting and satisfying to rescue and remove animals kept in deplorable conditions, but to see them later, well-adjusted in their new environments is rewarding beyond words.

I can’t imagine a better gift from a tiger than the smile it gives me to watch her dunk her head under water, shake the droplets from her fur, and peer up at the sky with pure joy.

  1. I am very happy to have these tigers rescued, but don't say they'll have a happy life, because in spite of the great water feature, there isn;t a bush, tree, or ANYTHING else that is natural for these wild animals. The dream is to never allow wild animals to be purchased as pets in the first place, but… idiots will be idiots.

  2. They are "free" in a "sanctuary" that looks like a federal prison with wires all over, no grass and no trees. Great, they have a pool!! I wish they would have used the resources to accommodate them in a place that resembles a little bit their natural habitat.

  3. people are selfish, nothing but oh look at "ME" I'm doing something great But when you take a good look it's tragic for the animals that are so called rescued. If they were in proper Habitat we could sing these peoples praises but this is horrific. they got animals before they were able to provide a proper habitat. that's nothing to be proud of. what else are these Tigers doing without while they beg for money and beg for support? Inhuman Treatment is Inhumane no matter what they are calling themselves. This is a prime example of ignorance and excuses to be better then someone else. We see this in every corporation that has NO knowledge so they can set themselves on a pedestal. Look at the wild horses BLM rounds up if they cant sale them at auctions to benefit themselves they send them to slaughter houses. look at the decline in our fish and wildlife lakes are drained and fish killed in massive proportions because of some invasive species so they kill every fish and plant as if that preserves anything. even deer and elk are rounded up and slaughtered look at the dessert tortoises in Nevada that the BLM killed while calling them endangered species. This is how people care about animals I truly hate this world and the people who destroy animals and the habitat they need if we are going to rescue them lets make sure we do so in a humane way by leaving them in their habitat in nature by not destroying the eco systems. Washington State killed off the rabbits so coyotes do not have natural foods and then people kill the coyotes because they go after livestock. what a bunch of idiots! People are stupid! I really hate this world and those who destroy everything they touch or cause these amazing animals to be forced into captivity for selfish personal gain.

  4. It's still a cage. There are many, species specific sanctuaries where they could roam free over hundreds of acres with no other predators (hunting instinct never leaves, always returns & they are monitored to make sure they're thriving). Why not one of those. That place looks as grim as a zoo, just a bit bigger.

  5. Absolutely beautiful! ❤️ This makes my heart happy! I donate to IFAW and it’s wonderful to see these magnificent creatures enjoying life just how they should be! ???????

  6. Oh great, now they're living on rocks that become scorching hot under the Nevada sun. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to put tigers in a place where few animals or humans can survive? That pathetic concrete pit with a foot of water in it will evaporate in that zero humidity climate within hours. Someone needs to get out there and document what is happening to these animals.

  7. I think calmer every time I see videos like this of people, organizations that work effortlessly to rescue wild animals from horrible, horrible people…bless you is not enough, seriously … thank you

  8. This is why i hate white culture its only culture that always sets out to defy nature ….how do you take a wild animal from its natural habitat abuse it then comes another white to take into the desert with fake pools and now they are the hero's… in my eyes all thus fd up the house. JUST LEAVE THE ANIMALS ALONE IN THEIR HOME COUNTRIES AND HABITATS SIMPLE!!!
