Watch Starving Mangy Puppy Couldn’t Move It Was So Painful Is Rescued on The Dog Saviors produced by the World Animal Awareness Society & WA2S Films.

World Animal Awareness Society Executive Director Tom McPhee was operating a canine survey on the east side of downtown Houston when he came across this starving mangy puppy who could hardly move.

Although our canine survey and film teams cannot directly touch any animal we come across in our work, we have animal rescue partners that step up to assist animals we come across in peril we cannot leave with out helping.

Buddy Guy is one such dog. As Tom drove up on him as he tried to cross a busy street, it was apparent he was in a great deal of pain. When Tom sat with him, he didn’t move for nearly twenty minutes, because it was believed he was in too much pain.

The World Animal Awareness Society has partnered with Abandoned Animal Rescue to help rescue dogs we come across on the streets of Houston while we try to understand the big picture of homeless and stray dogs in Texas.

Look for a follow on video as part of The Abandoned Dog Rescue Show in an upcoming episode.

WA2S Films is grateful to Karen Pitcock, Executive Director of Abandoned Animal Rescue for her support. 3 Cheers!

  2. Sad poor puppy suffer with pain very sad for this young dog friendly guy help the poor dog very kind people love you all have a good day thanks

  3. Thank you for rescuing these lovely animals. But one Q I have, you are out looking for animals that need help why do you not carry water with you. That poor dog was so thirsty he would have loved to get some water from you. From Alabama.

  4. Buddy Guy looks like he could be a gorges little guy when he starts gaining weight and getting his fur back! Wish I could do more than say thank you for your hard work trying your best for all of the animals you can! 4 months back my precious boy Buddy went missing a few months after we got moved here to Tennessee and we looked for him for a month and a half maybe 2 months and my husband's cousin thought he found him but it was a pitiful stray going from trash can to trash can just to survive so there was a woman who came out with treats and water and offered to take him to the pound and we looked at each other and said no he's coming home with us to get the love and attention he deserves all the while I had also been keeping an eye on Facebook at a pitbull stray that this family couldn't keep cause he just wondered up so I've been wanting a pitbull pup for years but Buddy wouldn't have any other dogs in the house unless they were visiting, so I told the person if nobody claimed him by Sunday that we'd come get him on Monday and come to find out he was scared of men and he was really sick but we didn't care he wasn't going to a pound to be put down after a week of it coming from both ends he began to get better and get his energy back pretty fast and was playing and smiling then when my husband came out he would hide behind me so he got a handful of treats and gave them to him and loved on him for a month everyday then we needed to go get a few things from the grocery store me and the boys hung around in front of the store to let them get more interaction with people Max the pitbull was hiding between my legs while Red the beagle was sitting on the swing by me and a guy coming out looked over at us 3 and asked if he could pet them and I let him know we hadn't had him long and he was scared from abuse we believe and we were just trying to get them out of the house and around people and he smiled and did everything he was supposed to do then he surprised me by telling me he was a breeder and snickered at my jaw dropping Max let him love on him after he talked to me and both of them Max loved it then Red started getting jealous it was so funny then more people stopped but I warned everyone but I also had their leashes so they couldn't get very far from me! Anyway I've done my best here and I'm sending love and prayers for everyone who works doing this, the vets and the pets from my boys, Max and Red, my husband Floyd and me Angie we appreciate you all!

  5. How can human see this dog and not help him? In Houston people must have seen this poor little guy. Houston govt should try and get all dogs spayed by reducing or subsidizing the costs
