About This Episode:
Today, I’m heading down to Saigon’s illegal floating market. These people seem nice enough, but what are they really selling there. I use my training as a fake investigative youtube journalist to get to the bottom of why these people are operating illegally and what can be done about it.

About Sonny Side:
I’m not sponsored. I’m not rich. I’m just some guy who wanted to make the type of travel videos that I would want to see. This show is completely self-funded so thanks for patiently watching that five second advertisement (and read below how you can support this channel).

I am a video director by trade. Each time I travel to a new country I bring a cameraman with me, usually a friend, to shoot as many episodes as possible in a short amount of time (usually a week). The rest of the time I’m working as a video director/videographer in Vietnam and editing the crap out of these videos.

Much love and remember, Don’t Think, Just Chew.

I’m a huge fan of trying different, interesting and strange foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly MY point of view, but is not meant to offend any person or culture.

  1. When the man talks about cleaning up to escape he said, “cũng nhanh lắm 10-15 pout” which means “quite fast 10-15 minutes” and he adds, “hốt đại vậy thôi” which means roughly, “get what I can.” This is really heart throbbing to me can’t even put it into words. He also talks about his wife and 2 children on the boat, Ive heard stories of children whose lives on boats in Vietnam. There’s no going up for these children, they’re too poor to go to school and life will be on the boat for them for generations to come…

  4. This was the first time I cried watching your show. Those people seem so kind, so sincere and hardworking. Maybe this video will raise awareness and changes in policy will take place.

  8. This was very touching and im glad you used your influence to shed some light on how life is in other parts of the world. Poverty is rampant in these places, and you see it all the time on the show . I think people need to understand this: when you see folks eating worms and other odd stuff you feature on the show, they think wow how can people eat this stuff? But really it's out of necessity and availability of food, if they don't have the same stuff available as we do in the US they have to make use of what's available around them. Who would rather eat some sea worms over some baby back ribs? Literally nobody, but you have to remember no everyone is able to afford it or have it available. This was the excellent.

  9. I wish my ungrateful kids would appreciate the life they have.
Unlike some of these kids and adults working at such a young age and for “ peanuts “ amount of money

I wish I could show my kids.
This is what hardships and really meaning of poverty is.

Some Kids especially mine are so ungrateful to what they have and what they can achieve.

I wish I could turn back time.
The things I would do differently

  10. I love that you put your heart into this and you were able to comprehend her/their struggles. Makes me lov3 this show that much more. ✌
