MANY parents struggle to maintain discipline in their home. But spare a thought for Jim and Susan Kowalczik whose main charge is a huge 1400lb Kodiak brown bear. The couple look after the 9ft giant at their orphanage where they have dedicated their lives to rescuing and releasing injured animals. They now care for 11 bears, including Kodiak brown bears, Syrian bears and black bears on their 100 acre estate in Otisville, New York. Most were rescued as cubs from breeding programs or nature reserves that closed down.

  1. I love how when they mentioned that they are orphaned and rescued by this lovely couple, no body complains that they should be released into the wild 🙂

  2. Jim:- how your day going my bear boy…!!

Bear:- Look for the bare necessities
    The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
    I mean the bare necessities
    Old Mother Nature's recipes
That brings the bare necessities of life….??

  3. I love animals very much, but anyone who thinks that burying them is like burying a family member is nuts, so my wife is equal I THINK NOT.

  4. There was a woman who had a Boa Constricter, that got the snake very young. It would sleep in the bed with her coiled up. Years went by, but she noticed something different, the snake was stretched out beside her. She informed a snake specialist why it started to act like this? He told her that it was measuring her out before trying to eat her. (Hey, I’m only the messenger.)
